The Senior Manager, Market Access Marketing will be responsible for supporting short and long-term Market Access strategies, programs and tactics associated with the marketing of Ocular Therapeutix portfolio in the US, in both the payer and reimbursement space. This individual will be responsible for managing and supporting cross functional efforts, including but not limited to, programs and tactics associated with market access in the US in the areas of payer reimbursement, HUB services, market research and trade. This individual will work closely with several departments including but not limited to US Market Access team, Marketing, Market Research, Sales, Training, Strategic Accounts, Regulatory, Legal, Medical Affairs and external customers.  This role will be responsible for developing and fostering relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and collaborating on relevant society engagements.

  • Lead and/or assist in execution of marketing strategies and the development of programs and tactics to attain strategic objectives associated with targeted payer segments and strategic accounts
  • Lead, coordinate and manage all Access related activities that will help ensure success
  • Educate team on reimbursement and coding submission requirements for each coding or reimbursement pathway. Evaluate reimbursement pathway strategy likelihood of success and investment and critical path timelines
  • Develop and/or assist in creating tools and programs for multiple audiences, including but not limited to HCP, payer and administrative audiences
  • Coordinate and/or assist in planning and development of reimbursement content for HCP and payer customers
  • Responsible for leading Payer and Reimbursement Key Opinion Leader engagement and creating a network for advocacy.
  • Actively participate as a member of the cross-functional brand team, and when appropriate, collaborate with Marketing, US Market Access team, Sales, Training, Strategic Accounts, Regulatory, Market Research, Legal, and Medical Affairs
  • Coordinate and successfully manage key vendors and agencies to ensure project success
  • Responsible for creating communication plan and supporting tactics to elevate payer access and coverage of inline brands.
  • Manage program budgets
  • Develop and assess metrics to ensure successful program implementation and operation
  • Help to guide and shape brand strategic decisions through research and experience
  • Assist in the content development and meeting execution of Market Access advisory boards
  • Demonstrate company values on a consistent basis. Acts, and is accountable to act, in compliance with all laws, regulations and policies


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; Scientific degree, MBA or other advanced degree is a plus
  • Experience working in Buy and Bill reimbursement, or marketing are strongly preferred
  • Successful track record in pharmaceutical marketing, reimbursement, trade, payer, HUB services and/or sales with relevant experience and increasing job responsibilities. Evidence of strong analytical skills, project planning and organizational skills required
  • Candidates must possess the ability to proactively analyze business problems, identify key issues, develop solutions, implement tactical programs, and design metrics to measure business impact
  • Expert knowledge of US reimbursement system: reimbursement, coding, billing and market access, policy and trends.
  • Project management experience.
  • Preference for candidate having relevant coding certifications.
  • Ability to distill complex regulations and trends into a simple message for internal and external customers.
  • Prior experience managing marketing/advertising/promotional budgets
  • Proven ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally to drive business results in a heavily matrixed, fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication, leadership and ability to drive influence across stakeholders to set direction, align work efforts, and ensure outstanding execution
  • Experience working closely with field sales organizations to implement marketing programs with measurable business impact
  • Outstanding project management skills and experience managing multiple vendors, marketing partners and agency partners
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities
  • Strong understanding of legal and regulatory environment in pharmaceutical promotions, pharma industry guidelines, and other compliance-related issues
  • Ability to assess risks and benefits to make timely, sound decisions with various levels of information, and accept responsibly for meeting and/ or exceeding objectives
  • Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time
