Director, Supply Chain

The Director, Supply Chain is responsible for developing and oversight of the product supply process for purchasing and management of materials to support clinical and commercial manufacturing. This strategic role works closely with the respective functional leaders in developing the strategies and processes necessary to ensure reliable, compliant, cost effective, and on-time supply of clinical and commercial product. This position will be responsible for leading the management and use of ERP, overseeing the cGMP Materials Management group, and providing critical oversight of the serialization, labeling, packaging, and distribution outsourced services.

The successful candidate will:

• Partner with major departments within R&D, Technical Operations, G&A, and Commercial to assess business process flows while ensuring ERP systems capabilities are adequately designed.
• Develop and manage partnerships with suppliers, vendors and consultants to ensure product supply and market needs are met
• Implementation and management of the S&OP program, product supply dashboards / KPIs, and communication channels for the business, working with senior leaders from cross functional departments to ensure understanding and execution with S&OP strategies to ensure compliance and commitment
• Accountable for overseeing and ensuring that the Supply Chain organization is effectively established and reliably delivers the business requirements, including but not limited to: clinical and commercial product supply
• Responsible for interdepartmental communication and coordination between Sales/Marketing and Manufacturing to ensure commercial supply alignment
• Provide oversight and support to the Material Management group to ensure uninterrupted supply of materials required for production of clinical and commercial product
• Provide leadership for delivering on clinical and commercial product supply demands, trends and forecasts
• Management of clinical and commercial product forecasts and delivery timelines
• Focus on safety, cost management, savings opportunities, and business growth in all interactions, directives and opportunities including, but not limited to, alternative critical suppliers and secondary
• Optimize warehouse / inventory functions at multiple locations
• Supervises, trains and mentors Supply Chain staff, including direct and indirect reports 

Requirements:

• BS or BA degree or equivalent in related field; Masters preferred
• Requires 6+ years of Purchasing and Scheduling experience, preferably in the BioPharma Industry with knowledge of GMP standards in manufacturing, with at least 3-5 years supervisory and management experience.
• Strong proficiency with ERP/MRP/CRP activities and utilizing these skills efficiently to manage the workload
• Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization, including senior leaders of the company
• Maintaining a team player mentality and customer focus is essential
• Excellent computer and analytical skills required; QAD knowledge a plus
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills needed to communicate with both internal and external contacts
• Must be organized and detail-oriented
