This  highly motivated, results oriented individual will develop, oversee, and execute against our ERP strategy by working with key stakeholders.  The candidate will have proven experience managing alliances across  the business, anticipating needs from clinical and commercial stakeholders and communicating internally for resource planning.  The Planner/Scheduler should be familiar with developing clear, concise requirements with an awareness of risk mitigation strategy.


  • Support department level scheduling by setting priorities, tracking status, and delivering timely information to R&D, engineering, operations, quality, and purchasing
  • Responsible for the effective sequencing of jobs, processes, and assignments to individual work centers
  • Release jobs to the operations group at the appropriate time based on schedule requirements
  • Manage routings and ensure estimated queue time, setup time, and run time per operation are accurate
  • Track inventory levels and delivery schedules to ensure continuous production of major programs
  • Closely monitor progress and report out to management on the status of all new product development, R&D, and production activities
  • Monitor material flow and identify any bottlenecks in the process; troubleshoot issues to the root-cause and implement corrective actions.
  • Support communications by providing accurate and timely information and reports to the management team.
  • Generate capacity, on-time delivery, and production reports in support of management team.
  • Be the primary interface between production teams and the department leadership teams.
  • Manage and coordinate all production meetings.
  • Utilize QAD MRP/ERP System to schedule jobs and to review/update work center capacity models to support planning models.
  • Experience with Shop Floor Controls and MRP/ERP systems.
  • Maintain departmental metrics and KPI’s.
  • Communicate within and outside of own function to gain cooperation on operational processes, practices, and procedures.
  • Make moderate to substantial improvements to systems and processes.
  • Contributes to achievement of departmental goals and operating plans with direct impact on the departmental results.
  • Performs schedule analysis in support of assigned programs or projects.
  • Utilizes Gantt, milestone charts, earned value management and other project management techniques to gauge progress and identify performance variances to facilitate focus and intervention on critical areas.
  • Prepare, develop and coordinate integrated master plan and integrated master schedule (IMP/IMS) using MS Project, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ensures projects and program schedules and plans are integrated across company functional groups including finance, engineering, material, manufacturing, and quality
  • Ensures compliance with internal program procedures
  • Provides measurable input of new products, processes or standards in operational plans that will have some impact on the achievement of overall functional results
  • Communicates within and outside of own function or business area and has responsibility for communicating with parties external to the organization (e.g., customers, vendors, etc.) when necessary
  • Explains, interprets, and gains cooperation on policies, procedures and practices
  • Establishes short-term operational plans with measurable contribution to function or business area results
  • Attend and lead scheduling status reviews and conduct briefings with department leaders which requires ability to communicate matters of importance to the function or business area
  • Works to influence others to accept individual or team’s views or practices and changes to concepts, practices, and approaches
  • Works to achieve operational targets within job area with some impact on department results
  • Must be able to lead others in multiple locations toward a common goal effectively managing through teleconferences.
  • Develop shared resource tools to assist with communication both to leadership (internal and external) and to those performing the work.


  • A Bachelor’s degree, in science, engineering or production related field. Master's preferred
  • 5 to 10 years work experience in a production facility and a background in project management. PMP  Certification preferred
  • At least 2 to 3 years experience working in an R&D setting preferred.
  • Must be able to work with databases, prepare reports and communicate with other employees
  • Collaboration with other departments to trend and manage production or schedule changes
  • Proficient with process comprehension, IT introduction and strategic alliance management
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer literacy, proficiency in MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Strong change management experience
  • Operational knowledge is preferred
