Ocular Therapeutix cleaning technicians are responsible to maintain our GXP facilities to the highest of regulatory compliance in accordance to 21 CFR 211.42.  Our cleaning technicians will be required to perform at the highest level of control to prevent cross contamination or safety risks for our employees and patients. This position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining critical areas of manufacturing/research facilities at Ocular Therapeutix using FDA regulated cleaning, training and documentation processes. Our cleaning technicians will be working in clean room environments as well as research and development, and laboratories to ensure proper cleaning in all facility locations. 


  • Daily cleaning of cleanroom, lab and controlled areas following Ocular procedures, including but not limited too:
    • Maintenance of entryways and wipe down areas leading into cleanroom.
    • Maintenance of cleanroom floors using cleanroom approved mopping techniques.
    • Maintenance of cleanroom walls and fixtures using cleanroom approved wall mops or wipes.
    • Maintenance of labs and other controlled spaces
    • Removal and disposal of regulated waste and general trash.
  • Apply GXP and GDP guidelines to complete documentation in logbooks and other documents.
  • Work in an environmentally controlled area (clean room) as required.
  • Activities in written and electronic documents in accordance with good manufacturing practice (GMPs) and good documentation procedures (GDPs), review, confirmation and maintenance as appropriate.
  • Administrative tasks – attending to proper documentation, supply needs, meetings, sending / receiving emails, and participating in other activities as defined by project needs.
  • Other tasks as assigned by Supervisor.



  • Minimum of high school diploma required 


  • Minimum of 2 years prior experience in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry.  Clean room, gowning and cleaning experience is preferred.
  • Chemical handling and solution preparation experience preferred
  • Basic computer knowledge, such as using Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Must have very good written and oral communication skills as well as willingness to learn
  • Knowledge of FDA regulations, cGMP and cGDPs.
  • Working Conditions:
      • Hours are 1pm to 9pm M-F; with occasional weekend hours to support manaufacturing production
      • Identify important physical job demands (i.e. lifting, bending, etc.).
      • Must be able to stand on their feet for up to 3 hours wearing a cleanroom gown and face mask for up to 3 hours at a time
      • Must be able to meet the physical requirement such as bending, lifting stretching pulling up to 50lb
      • May be required to clean parts of the facility outside of the GXP spaces (ie. Office areas)
      • Identify important or unusual environmental conditions (i.e. heat, fumes, etc.) if any.
