  • Overview

    Responsible for the physical and administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment. Unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of received goods and rejects unsatisfactory items as necessary. Lifts heavy items and may operate a forklift. Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped. Posts weights and shipping charges and prepares goods for final shipment. Examines, stocks and distributes materials to inventory and manufacturing lines. May prepare kitting packages for assembly production. This is a temp to perm position.

    Responsibilities

    • Preparing documents such as packing slips or bills of lading
    • Corresponding with establishment representatives to rectify problems
    • Packing, sealing, labeling, or affixing postage to prepare materials for transport
    • Understand/Use ERP/MRP system for shipping Sales Orders
    • Contacting carrier representatives to make transport arrangements
    • Kit Materials for Manufacturing and fill out appropriate forms for inventory request
    • Track Max/Min levels on consumable materials
    • Control/Mange Warehouse and controlled inventory locations

    Qualifications

    • 2+ years Shipping and Receiving/ Material Handling experience
    • Knowledge of common Warehouse procedures
    • Knowledge of FedEx online shipping a plus
    • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (i.e. QAD) a plus
    • Pallet jack experience, a plus
    • Work well in a team setting
    • Highly organized and have great communication skills.

    • Problem solving skills
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds using proper safety methods
