    Reporting into the Sr. Vice President of Technical Operations, the Director, Supply Chain Business System will serve in a strategic role that works closely with the respective functional leaders in developing the strategies and processes necessary to ensure reliable, compliant, cost effective, and on-time supply of product. This position will be responsible for leading the effective implementation, training, management and use of ERP, overseeing the cGMP materials management group, and providing critical oversight of the serialization, labeling, packaging, and distribution outsourced services. He/she will be directly involved in evaluation of existing business processes and the planning stages to move the company onto our ERP and Track and Trace systems (implementation forthcoming).

    Responsibilities

    •Interact with major departments such as development, project management, clinical, operations, quality, manufacturing, purchasing, inventory management, sales and accounting & finance to assess business process flows while ensuring ERP and Track and Trace systems capabilities are adequately designed
    •Develop and manage partnerships with suppliers, vendors and consultants to ensure product supply and market needs are met
    •Provide strategic program oversight during the ERP, Track and Trace system implementation and qualification phases to ensure a successful and efficient configuration/qualification implementation
    •Implementation and management of the S&OP program, product supply dashboards / KPIs, and communication channels for the business
    •Ensure S&OP management practices are in accordance with corporate ethics, financial instructions and internal requirements that result in quality and reliability
    •Provide guidance and mentoring to an ERP subject matter expert who supports the users across the organization on the capabilities, usage, troubleshooting and resolution of the ERP and Track and Trace systems
    •Accountable for overseeing and ensuring that the Supply Chain organization is effectively established and reliably delivers the business requirements, including but not limited to: clinical and commercial product supply
    •Post implementation continue to provide strategic direction to identify and apply additional future functionality of the ERP and Track and Trace systems as Ocular grows
    •Responsible for interdepartmental communication and coordination to ensure supply alignment amongst Sales/Marketing and Manufacturing
    •Work with senior leaders from business leadership, sales, finance, quality, marketing, etc. to ensure understanding and execution with the S&OP strategies to ensure compliance and commitment
    •Provide oversight and support to the material management group to ensure uninterrupted supply of materials required for production of clinical and commercial product
    •Provide leadership for delivering on clinical and commercial product supply demands, trends and forecasts
    •Management of product forecasts and delivery timelines
    •Develop, teach and reinforce safety guidelines and shipment protocol requirements
    •Creation of supply chain management strategies that increase efficiency while enhancing our regulatory compliance and opportunities
    •Provide operational support and guidance to ensure maximum productivity
    •Train and mentor SCM, clinical and various other employees
    •Collaborate with other departments to identify vulnerabilities, risks and gaps; while developing plans and strategies to mitigation
    •Focus on safety, cost management, savings opportunities, and business growth in all interactions, directives and opportunities
    •Optimize warehouse / inventory functions

    Qualifications

    •Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Technology or other related industry
    •APICS certification is a plus
    •10+ years of pharmaceutical supply chain industry required
    •Experience with quality systems, regulatory industry and medical device or pharmaceuticals strongly desired
    •Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry necessary, medical device knowledge helpful and regulations expertise highly desired
    •4+ years of experience in supply chain management
    •Ability to lead, train and mentor employees on a personal level
    •Leadership of multi-disciplinary teams with matrix reporting structure
    •Experienced with ERP systems, Track and Trace, packaging and distribution supply chain logistics
    •Knowledge of drug, medical device, regulated manufacturing, GMP and quality systems highly desired
    •Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
    •Ability to interface and communicate across organization at all levels in a matrixed fashion

    •Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
