  • Overview

     

    The Sr. Accountant is primarily responsible for assisting in the month-end closing process, audit support and preparation, ERP system implementation and any additional projects as assigned. 

    Responsibilities

    Month-end and quarter-end close:

    • Prepare and/or review journal entries and reconciliations and ensure accounting treatment is in accordance with GAAP and corporate accounting policy
    • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
    • Assist with establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies and principles
    • Accruals (general and clinical) and reconciliations
    • Assist in the preparation of monthly internal reports
    • Assist and prepare SOX internal testing
    • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
    • Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions
    • Assist and establish bill of materials for current and new products
    • Back-up for ASC 718, stock compensation
    • Assist with on-going commercial scale-up activities from the finance side of the house

     

    ERP System Implementation:

    • Assist with the ERP System Implementation (QAD)
    • Assist with designing SOX controls and documentation of the procedures within the system
    • Assist with ensuring all outsourced services are integrated into the ERP system to proper accounting of transactions

    Audit support and preparation:

    • Prepare supporting documentation and schedules as requested
    • Follow up with audit staff when they have questions
    • Assist with preparation and referencing of SEC documentation

     

    Additional accounting and financial responsibilities as assigned

    Qualifications

    • BS or BA degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting
    • 4+ years’ experience in Accounting with a combination of public and life science industry experience preferred
    • Knowledge of finance and accounting, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, inventory management, and budgeting
    • Excellent computer skills. QuickBooks and ERP system knowledge a plus
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills needed to communicate with both internal and external contacts
    • Must be organized and detail-oriented
