  • Overview

    Provide strategic and tactical project management to the Company’s early and late stage project teams.  Work collaboratively with the project teams and will manage and integrate the diverse drug development activities in key areas that include discovery, product development, CMC and clinical manufacturing, regulatory affairs, clinical development, commercial and finance.  The successful candidate will be a confident leader, with attention to detail and the ability to drive progress within the project team.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead late stage project teams and be responsible for working closely with project team members to manage the operational aspects of the projects, including developing overall strategy, developing fully integrated project timelines, monitoring project milestones, managing project risks.
    • In collaboration with scientific leads on early stage projects, manage cross-functional efforts working closely with project team members to develop fully integrated project timelines, managing project risks, and driving execution to meet project milestones.
    • Establish team objectives based on corporate and functional area goals, drive decision making and track cross-functional progress toward objectives.
    • Develop reports and metrics for communicating project status to inform all levels in the organization (Executive, Management, Project Team).
    • Lead key CMC projects, develop plans to ensure clarity of deliverables, timing and accountabilities, and oversee execution.
    • Help drive a culture of achievement, accountability, and continuous improvement within project teams.
    • Assist with project financial budgeting and forecasting process.
    • Ensure effective project team meetings, logistics and documentation.
    • Remain current with drug development approaches in the U.S. and internationally and advise teams about alternative development possibilities.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline. Advanced degree in related area preferred.
    • Minimum of 10 years industry experience with 5+ years of project management/leadership roles
    • Experience in drug development from preclinical to post-approval stages
    • Strong familiarity with CMC/manufacturing development stages and processes
    • Prior involvement with cross-functional management and inter-company alliances
    • Strategic thinker, able to integrate complex business considerations in developing project development approach
    • Strong ability to drive strategic objectives through operational execution
    • Strong management and interpersonal/communication skills being able to work with all levels of the organization
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence without authority, motivate with enthusiasm and develop productive working relationships with key stakeholders
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
