  • Overview

    The Associate Director, Supply Chain  will serve in a strategic role that works closely with the respective functional leaders in developing the strategies and processes necessary to ensure reliable, compliant, cost effective, and on-time supply of product.  This position will be responsible for leading the effective implementation and use of QAD ERP, overseeing the cGMP materials management group, and providing critical oversight of the labeling, packaging, and distribution outsourced services.  He/she will be directly involved in evaluation of existing business processes and the planning stages to move the company onto QAD ERP and Track and Trace systems (implementation forthcoming).  Additionally, this role is directly accountable for overseeing and ensuring that the Supply Chain organization is effectively established and reliably delivers the business requirements. This is a fast-growing biopharmaceutical company with regulated production and quality controls.  Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry necessary, medical device knowledge helpful and regulations expertise highly desired.  The position will report to the Sr. Vice President of Technical Operations.  


    • Interact with major departments such as operations, quality, manufacturing, purchasing, inventory management, sales and accounting & finance to assess business process flows while ensuring QAD and Track and Trace systems capabilities are adequately designed.
    • Provide strategic program oversight during the QAD, Track and Trace system implementation and qualification phases to ensure a successful and efficient configuration/qualification implementation.
    • Provide guidance and mentoring to a QAD subject matter expert who supports the users across the organization on the capabilities, usage, troubleshooting and resolution of the QAD and Track and Trace systems.
    • Post implementation, continue to provide strategic direction to identify and apply additional future functionality of the QAD and Track and Trace systems as Ocular grows.
    • Responsible for interdepartmental communication and coordination to ensure supply alignment amongst Sales/Marketing and Manufacturing.
    • Interface closely with IT on a regular basis.
    • Provide oversight and support to the material management group to ensure uninterrupted supply of materials required for production of clinical and commercial product.
    • Other duties as assigned.


    • 10+ years of pharmaceutical supply chain industry required.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Technology or other related industry.
    • Experienced with ERP systems, Track and Trace, packaging and distribution supply chain logistics
    • Experience leading teams.
    • Knowledge of drug, medical device, regulated manufacturing, GMP and quality systems highly desired.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
    •    Experience with quality systems, regulatory industry and medical device or pharmaceuticals strongly desired.
    • Ability to interface and communicate across organization at all levels in a matrixed fashion.
