  • Overview

    Reporting to the CFO, the Senior Manager, FP&A is primarily responsible for the budgeting, planning, forecasting and analysis at both the enterprise and program levels, working across all departments including preclinical, clinical, regulatory, operations, commercial and G&A.  This is an important strategic role tasked with development, analysis and communication of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts to the entire executive leadership, including monthly trend analyses and dashboard reporting.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop enterprise-level annual (monthly build) three to five year financial plans and budgets by department, being responsible for the presentation and communication of monthly variance and trend analysis to be reviewed with CFO, executive team and department heads.
    • Work closely with the Director of Program Management to help coordinate the development of program budgets and forecasts as well as oversee monthly review of actuals to budget by program. Assist in the development of program templates to standardize evaluation, review and capital allocation at program level.
    • Work directly with the head of commercial to support the development of annual product and sales forecasts to be integrated into three to five year financial plans.
    • Be available to support the Director of Accounting and External Reporting in the execution of the annual audit by external accountants.
    • Support CFO in analysis and evaluation of financing options as well as potential strategic transactions.
    • Support CFO and Director of Accounting and External Reporting in preparation for quarterly earnings calls.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • BS/BA degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting is required. MBA a plus
    • 7+ years of progressive forecasting, planning and analysis experience at both enterprise and program levels with operational experience in accounting.
    • Biopharmaceutical experience required, Medical Device experience a plus.
    • Knowledge of finance, accounting, inventory, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
    • Excellent computer skills – Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Office suite. Familiarity with Adaptive and ERP systems a plus.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills necessary with the ability to work and lead across functional areas.
